#Why Risk is a Lot Like Fishing

Just got back from Maine-fishing, family, adventure, and so much fun. In two days, I have my first big art show. Risk is a lot like fishing: you can’t catch a fish unless you put a hook in the water. Out on the dock, I was showing my cousin’s kid, Greyson, how to cast.

Bringing my work to the public for the first time is a whole new step, and I'll admit the questions are swirling:

What if it doesn't work and people don't buy my stuff? |

What if it gets super busy and I can't keep up?

Then I remembered watching Greyson on the dock. He didn't care about catching a fish—he just wanted to be out there, rhythmically casting under the quiet glow of the Maine dusk. Maybe if I approach my art the exact same way—just putting the line in the water and enjoying the craft—it will all work out fine.
